Belle époque through the lens
The temporary exhibition 'belle époque through the lens' puts 'photography' in the spotlight. The exhibition runs from October 5, 2024 to June 15, 2025 at the Belle Epoque Centre.
Today photography is available to everyone. We no longer think about it: just take your smartphone and 'click' you have captured something digitally on film. Everyone is a photographer. But how did it all begin? In the 19th century, photography developed rapidly. Initially, a photo camera was only for professional use, for the photographer in his studio. But soon enough you could also get started at home with your own portable camera with film roll. In the temporary exhibition 'belle époque through the lens' you will discover how photography became a real craze from the belle époque onwards.
